"Do you prefer peace or the air conditioner on?".

Prime Minister Mario Draghi was sufficiently clear on the government's next moves and on an increasingly probable embargo of gas and oil from Russia: the executive could impose a new austerity, like that of 1973 due to the oil crisis, which will greatly affect our lives.

Parliament's first response to the energy crisis comes with an amendment to the Bills decree that requires a stop to the wild air conditioner in public offices: the temperature cannot be more than 19 degrees in winter and less than 27 degrees in summer, with two degrees of tolerance. , from May 1st to March 31st 2023.

A measure that would make it possible to save three billion cubic meters of gas according to the calculations for the heating systems made by the technicians whom the Executive asks for advice.

Among the measures that have been given the go-ahead by the government there is also the simplification of the installation procedure of a photovoltaic system which is extended to the related works, the destination of a third party to gas-intensive small and medium-sized enterprises, such as the Murano glass factories. of national gas production at controlled prices. In addition, the National Day of Energy Saving and Sustainable Lifestyles was established, on February 16, "in order - the text reads - to promote the culture of energy and resource saving through the reduction of waste, the implementation of sharing actions and the dissemination of sustainable lifestyles ".

But not only: among other austerity measures the mayors could be forced to reduce the number of street lamps lit and the hours of lighting, and in condominiums the lighting of the lights in shared spaces could be delayed. Again, cars stopped on Sundays or reduced speed limits.
