Sardinia brought its experience to the webinar “Race to Resilience. Cities and Regions to the challenge of a changing climate ", promoted by Italy for Climate (Italian climate initiative of the Foundation for sustainable development and referent of the United Nations initiative in our country) and Green City Network, in collaboration with the British Embassy in Rome.
The aim of the meeting is to address the climate emergency by making local authorities responsible for the strategies for the territories of competence through not only the reduction of greenhouse gases but also with adaptation and resilience measures of socio-economic systems, to ensure the prosperity of our societies by adapting to the changing climate. An objective relaunched by the United Nations with “Race to Resilience” which aims to provide platforms for comparison for sharing experiences and best practices, to support all realities, even the smallest ones.
Sardinia, on this occasion, presented its case, with the definition of the climate scenario for 2050 through the regional strategy for adaptation to climate change, through collaboration agreements with local authorities.
