It will be the most attended marathon in Europe, on a smooth and fast track. An opportunity not to be missed to run fast and one that Claudio Solla has no intention of letting slip away. The bearer of the Cagliari Marathon Club, winner yesterday of the ''Maratonina Città di Uta'' with his new personal time of 1h09'32'', is in full loading phase waiting for December 4th, the date on which he will be in Spain for the his second experience of distance.

Yesterday a good test in Uta with a view to 42 km, 195. Did you expect to win?

«Expecting a victory is rare for an athlete. You never know what could happen in the race, but I knew I was fine and I could have my say."

In the end, in addition to the victory, new personnel also arrived.

«Yeah, I managed to run under 1h10'. It was a tight race right from the start, I wanted to race to improve myself so I set the pace myself from the first kilometres. I was aware that in order to run fast I couldn't be a wait-and-see».

On December 4th he will return to the marathon. Why did you choose Valencia?

«Valencia is a marathon that involves a lot of people, there is the opportunity to run at a tight pace and to be dragged by the group which clearly has positive aspects. Furthermore, the track is very fast and flat: in short, the conditions for trying to put in a good performance are not lacking».

Compared to your first marathon on April 24, 2022 in Vienna, what have you changed in preparation?

«Vienna was a marathon prepared in just two months. It was more a test to understand what it meant to run a similar test. With my technician Andrea Cabboi we have increased the kilometres, even reaching 170 per week, and we are carrying out more strength training».

What is his goal?

«Improving my personal by 2h28'01'', whatever time will come it will be a new starting point. For 2023 we will aim to improve on the 10,000m, the half and clearly the marathon which represents my future».
