Giuseppe Conte does not give up after the court of Naples suspended his office as M5s president and that of his five deputies, giving reason to three activists who had contested his election, reserved only for members of the Movement for more than six months with the amendment to the statute.

The former prime minister wants to try to overturn the judges' decision and Beppe Grillo is willing to let him play one last legal card. Yesterday a two-hour meeting was held between Conte and the founder and guarantor of the Movement to relaunch the party after a jolt that questioned its future, possibly finding a point of fall that satisfies everyone, starting right from With you.

"We had an antibiotic meeting to restore the Movement's immune system, so rest assured," said Grillo, leaving late in the evening arm in arm with Conte from the office of Luca Amato, the notary in Rome whom the M5s has often relied on for certify their acts and to resolve more complex issues.

THE RELAUNCH STRATEGY - On the eve of the Roman mission, Grillo had held back Conte's idea of a quick consultation to modify the statute and then arrive at a confirmation of his leadership which, the former prime minister argued in recent days, "cannot depend from stamped papers ". The guarantor, according to the strategy prepared in recent days, has proposed to reset everything, to start again with a new guarantee committee that is then able to vote on the new statute. Conte said he was strong of the opinion of the lawyers, convinced that he had the cards in hand to effectively oppose the decision of the Court of Naples. And he insisted on investigating this solution by immediately filing a petition for revocation.

THE GUARANTEE COMMITTEE - A hypothesis that Grillo would be willing to let him explore, making it clear, however, that if he does not succeed then he would take the matter in hand. In that case, the founder of the M5s would have decided to move along the lines of the statute approved a year ago. Therefore it would aim at the appointment of the guarantee committee (three members, who do not hold elected positions, voted on the Net among a shortlist of at least six names proposed by the guarantor) and then restart the machine, following the path that leads to the vote of the steering committee or of the president. Eventually we look to a new leadership, which could have the face of a woman like those, for example, of Virginia Raggi or Chiara Appendino.

Another hypothesis circulating in these hours would be that of the creation of a new "container": considered instead more insidious, especially from a legal point of view. In this scenario, there are also those who do not exclude the prospect of a split. A risk that no one inside the Movement - at the moment - would like to take.
