The Champions League final will be between PSG and Inter, on Saturday 31 May at 9pm at the Allianz Arena in Munich. After the memorable 4-3 triumph of the Nerazzurri after extra time against Barcelona (first leg 3-3), it was the Parisians who qualified in the return leg of the second semi-final, beating Arsenal 2-1 after their 0-1 success eight days ago in London in the first leg.
The Gunners started off very strongly, with Rice's header going just wide in the 3rd minute and Donnarumma's miracle on a shot from the edge of the area by Ødegaard in the 8th minute. After the quarter of an hour, PSG grew and hit the post with a splendid shot by Kvaratskhelia in the 17th minute. The lead went to another former Napoli player, Fabián Ruiz, who controlled the ball on the edge of the area in the 27th minute and beat Arsenal goalkeeper Raya with a great left-footed shot .
In the second half Donnarumma was once again the protagonist, in the 63rd minute to clear a left-footed shot from Saka. On the following corner, a counterattack, a shot from Hakimi and a deflection from Saliba. After more than a minute of waiting, the VAR called referee Zwayer to the monitor: not, as initially thought, for contact in the PSG area with Kvaratskhelia the protagonist, but for a handball by Saliba on Hakimi's shot. It was a penalty, but Vitinha kicked badly and Raya saved (69') .
Not bad for PSG, who doubled their lead in the 72nd minute with a powerful shot from Hakimi, formerly of Inter, after an exchange in the area . Three minutes later, a defensive lapse led Saka to skip past Donnarumma and make it 2-1, but it was too late for Arsenal.
