No Italian derby in the play-offs for the knockout phase of the Champions League. The draw that just took place in Nyon paired Juventus with PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord with Milan: the immediate challenge between the two Italian teams was avoided, but if both were to advance, the derby with Inter would be mandatory (for one of them). Atalanta, on the other hand, will have an all-black and blue challenge with the Belgians of Club Brugge, the last team to qualify from the standings (they finished in twenty-fourth place in the championship phase).

Here are all the pairings: Club Brugge-Atalanta, Sporting CP-Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City-Real Madrid, Celtic-Bayern Munich, Juventus-PSV Eindhoven, Feyenoord-Milan, Brest-PSG and Monaco-Benfica .

The matches will be played on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 February for the first leg, with the return leg a week later (Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19) . The draw for the knockout phase of the Champions League will be held on Friday 21, with Inter being the only Italian team already directly in the round of 16 : Simone Inzaghi's team will be paired - as mentioned - with the winner of one of Juventus-Psv Eindhoven and Feyenoord-Milan.
