Arsenal are the first finalists of the 2025/26 Champions League . The London team defeated Atletico Madrid at the Emirates Stadium by a score of 1-0 , after a 1-1 draw in Spain. Bukayo Saka 's goal was the decisive one.

After a good start from the visitors, Arsenal came forward and found the net in the 44th minute through Saka, who collected a rebound from Oblak on a shot from Trossard and put it into an empty net, nullifying a great save from the Madrid goalkeeper .

The visitors came very close to scoring at the start of the second half, then Gyokeres missed a chance to double the lead, and in the final minutes, Sorloth missed a goal with a mistake in the penalty area that would have sent the match into extra time. The match ended with a brawl between the two benches.

Arsenal are back in the Champions League final after a 20-year absence. In 2006, the Gunners were defeated by Barcelona.
