Centre-right, three hours of confrontation: united coalition, but the candidate is not yet there

In the Sardinian centre-right there is dialogue but the consensus on the candidate for the presidency of the Region has not yet been found.

The table organized by Fratelli d'Italia at Palazzo Tirso in Cagliari to take stock of the regional elections scheduled in less than three months and in which all the political forces of the party participated lasted more than three hours .

The call began after a note last Saturday in which the coordinator and senator Antonella Zedda had argued that the conditions for a re-nomination of the outgoing president Christian Solinas no longer exist. And with respect to this position, he reiterated at the end of the summit, there is no going back. FdI has not smoothed the corners.

«Let me be clear - Zedda specified -   if the coalition chooses that the candidate for the next elections is Solinas, FdI in the spirit of coalition unity will support the candidacy, but FdI has expressed its own person   ale position as the other allies did in the previous months."

Having said this, «today the center-right has demonstrated an unusual political maturity for Sardinian politics. All united in the meeting called by FdI and everyone at the same level with respect to a round table".

Solinas spoke of «a table that established the united presence of many political forces, even new ones compared to the coalition that presented itself in 2019, a path has been traced that will be divided into thematic tables, and a synthesis will have to be made that for the national parties need a further step compared to local ones".

Now, he stated, " there is an ongoing discussion, we will calmly see what the outcome will be ". But if Solinas is not confirmed, will Psd'Az remain in the centre-right? «I don't make assumptions, I don't believe in fate but in Providence».
