During this year's twentieth edition of the Giornate Degli Autori - an independent review within the Venice Film Festival promoted by the associations of Italian directors and cinematographic authors ANAC and 100autori, oriented towards information on quality cinema with particular focus on research and innovation - the "SIAE Award for Creative Talent" will be awarded on Sunday 3 September to Alessandro Roia - a film actor who exploded in the sector thanks to his debut with the crime series "Romanzo Criminale" and performer among the many projects in the Sky TV show "1992" as well as in the all-Italian cinecomic by the Manetti Bros "Diabolik" - for his directorial and screenplay debut with the dramatic film entitled "With the grace of a God".

The award ceremony will take place at 17:00 in the Sala Perla, followed by the screening of the Canadian film "Vampire humaniste cherche suicidaire consestant" by Ariane Louis-Seize.

The aforementioned appointment will be followed by the screening of the film, presented in the setting of the Venetian Nights - a series of film-themed meetings which, starting from the seventh art, favor the comparison with themes such as the environment, memory, music and painting - the next 4 September at 21:00 in the Sala Laguna of the Veneto capital, in collaboration with Isola Edipo.

The same prize was awarded in previous editions to exponents of the sector such as Daniele Ciprì (2022), Elisa Fuksas (2021), Francesco Lettieri (2020) and to many other talents who, with their contribution to the media, have demonstrated their value by putting new creative challenges.

For the occasion, the President of the Italian Society of Authors and Publishers Salvatore Nastasi - called to confer the prestigious award - said: «SIAE rewards authors capable of writing the cinema of the present and of demonstrating a passion for this profession by engaging in challenges that are always new. With his first work Alessandro explores - between sensitivity and realism - the humanity of a protagonist trapped in his own doubts, in the dark side that lies behind each of us . This is how he recounts the return, the changes of one's place in time, the memories and the human need to re-discuss oneself in certain moments of life».

"With the Grace of a God" was written in collaboration with the screenwriter Ivano Fachin and produced by Massimo Di Rocco and Luigi Napoleone on behalf of Bartlebyfilm and Rai Cinema. In the cast we will find the protagonists Tommaso Ragno, Maya Sansa and Sergio Romano.

The official synopsis of the film: «Back in Genoa after twenty-five years to attend the funeral of the best friend of his youth, Luca finds his old companions once again. Everyone seems convinced that that death is the foregone conclusion of a life of excess. Everyone except Luca, who wants to see clearly, investigate, understand. Digging into his memory, and in a city that has changed at least as much as he has, he will let ghosts and truths that seemed buried resurface, together with his own true nature, which he thought he had tamed forever.
