After three years the Carnival returns to Sassari. Some city associations have proposed themselves and the Municipality has given their patronage and a small contribution, also taking care of the coordination. The city will be animated from Saturday 11 to Sunday 26 February with itinerant events, allegorical floats, music, dance, entertainment and many opportunities to taste the typical Carnival dishes.

It starts this weekend with Street Food in masks, in Piazzale Segni. A two-day event curated by Sardinia Happy Events in collaboration with Spazio Conad with stands dedicated to craft productions and street food, entertainment for children, music and entertainment.

Shrove Thursday, February 16, from 9.30 the Monte Rosello Alto district will dress up thanks to the parade of carnival floats organized by the ASD Dance School Number One in collaboration with the Monte Rosello Alto comprehensive institute.

Saturday 18 February the appointments begin in the morning at 11 in the spaces of the Pinacoteca Nazionale in Piazza Santa Caterina, where a workshop on puppets by Eugenio Tavolara will take place in collaboration with the Tusitala storytelling association. From 4 pm the masked groups will walk through the streets of the center starting from Piazza d'Italia up to Piazza Sant'Antonio. There are also initiatives in the Dessì bookshop, in Piazza d'Italia, and “Faba e Frisciori. Carrasciari Sassaresu”, organized by the Taribari cultural association in the historical centre.

Sunday 19 February S'Arza Teatro proposes the cheerful Carnival initiative again with the itinerant theatrical animation show "Nel Magico mondo di OZ" in Piazza d'Italia at 11.

Shrove Tuesday, February 21, various events for girls and boys: from the Oratory of the church of the Immaculate Heart to the historic center for the "Carrasciari sassaresu". Grand finale from 8pm to 10pm in Piazza Tola for the final party with music, entertainment and food and wine proposals from the square's merchants.

Closing the program will be the piñata with jugglers, face painting, music and pancakes scheduled for Sunday 26 February from 4.30 pm in the Oratory of the Immaculate Heart by ASD Dance School Number One.
