The Carnival period is often associated with celebrations, fun, but above all a variety of culinary delights. However, for those who care about their health, it can be difficult to navigate food temptations without compromising efforts to maintain a balanced diet.

Fritters, crostoli, chiacchiere and many other regional desserts typical of this period are in fact not only a great source of "empty calories", but also an excessive mix of sugars, fats and unhealthy cooking methods such as frying. So what to do? Give up traditions? No, it's not necessary! Our body, if healthy because it is fed healthily on a daily basis, is certainly able to withstand the impact.

In fact, numerous studies have long suggested that those who follow a virtuous diet in everyday life accumulate a sort of "bonus" or "health incentive" capable of acting as a protective shield against occasional mistakes. The secret is therefore moderation: limiting yourself to consuming carnival delicacies in the week of the same name and returning to the right path the following week remains the only truly winning strategy.
