Carbonia, the Coal Museum reopens after the move
Guided tours underground are back, while we await the completion of the works in the old headquarters of the Lampisteria
After the move due to the need to free up the premises to be subjected to extensive maintenance, the Coal Museum reopened in Carbonia.
The Great Serbariu Mine - and specifically the Lampery - will be affected by important renovation works. This entailed the transfer of the museum section to the building that houses the Auditorium overlooking the Sotacarbo research center and adjacent to the Paleontological museum. The access and visit methods will therefore undergo changes.
The guided tour underground lasts approximately 1 hour and remains unchanged compared to the classic visit.
The lamp shop will remain closed until the completion of the renovation works, therefore the museum exhibition in the auditorium will be open to visitors in a reduced version.
In the meantime, important works are underway in the old headquarters of the Lampisteria which the Municipality financed thanks to the Pnrr.
