The Grotta di Nettuno in Capo Caccia, Alghero, is confirmed as the most popular naturalistic site in Sardinia, with 128 thousand visitors.

"The numbers recorded in the fabulous karst complex of Alghero are close to those of the pre-Covid season of 2019 and mark + 76% compared to 2020. So much so that even the prestigious presences of the Head of State and the President of the Senate, Sergio Mattarella and Maria Elisabetta Alberti Casellati, enthusiastic and amazed by so much beauty, embellish a superlative season even more ”, explains a note from the Alghero Foundation.

"Extremely encouraging data that repay so much effort and confirm the growth trend and the strong recovery after difficult months, but above all the enormous potential of the territory, which is increasingly attractive", explains the president of the Alghero Foundation, Andrea Delogu, who underlines how the data reward the choices and investments made in recent years to convey the image of the main tourist sites of the Riviera del Corallo.

Super season for MUSA, the Archaeological Museum of Alghero (2,800 admissions, + 49% compared to 2020 and + 16% compared to 2019) and MACOR, the Coral Museum (5,170 admissions, + 78% on 2020 and + 60% compared to to 2019), which recorded a strong increase in admissions against an extremely reduced opening (from June). For both, 2021 marks the historical record of visitors: among these - with the Italians in the lead - the data of foreign presences are also comforting, confirming a good turnout from European countries and a significant recovery of tourists from the United States.
