Dear Italian press, the Turkish press has always been mean to me, but that's nothing new. But not you. Please don't make the same mistake of copy-pasting the news coming from the Bosphorus.

Can Yaman wrote this on Instagram, posting a photo with the Colosseum in the background, after being arrested and released yesterday in Istanbul as part of an anti-drug operation.

“Do you really think I’m hanging around clubs with drugs during a time when the police are conducting widespread investigations and arresting many famous people?” he asks.

If it had been even slightly true, he adds, "I wouldn't have been released so quickly and able to return to Italy the next day. I love you all."
