The rules for campsites in Sardinia change, which now with the new law approved by the Regional Council can also be called camping .

Beyond the denomination, the most important change is the classification for open-air accommodation facilities on the island: tourist villages, to be campsites or campsites, simply need to allocate 25% (not 35%, as was expected ) of its overall accommodation capacity for parking and staying in removable structures such as tents, caravans, mobile homes owned by the company, while for the remaining part the presence of pitches that can be used by tourists with their own means is allowed.

This is how the 2016 tourism law changes, corrective measures repeatedly requested by trade associations to clarify doubts about violations of landscape protection regulations.

In open-air hospitality companies, we read, "the mobile accommodation arrangements are aimed at satisfying merely temporary tourist needs and, even if placed continuously, do not constitute a significant activity for urban planning and construction purposes ". The provision also specifies that these fittings must not have permanent connections to the ground and must retain the wheels .

The classification also changes: tourist villages and campsites can now be from 1 to 5 stars , no longer from 1 to 4 as expected so far.
