The gold medal won in the javelin by Daniel Dean Pembroke , a thirty year old English athlete who lives in Sardinia, at the last Tokyo Paralympics as a gift to one of the seven Down boys who is participating in the "Route21 Chromosome on the Road" Italy in Harley organized by Gian Piero Papasodero.

The delivery took place in Cala Gonone, a hamlet of Dorgali in the province of Nuoro, where Route21 landed for one of the stages of the seventh edition of the tour. Right here Daniel lives for most of the year with his Sardinian partner, Martina.

The Paralympic athlete and the young biker met at the Retrovino bar, which organized a reception in honor of its special guests, while the Italian and English national anthem played in the background.

Organized by the Diversa-Mente association of Verona and left on September 4th from Cervia, on its long journey the Route21 touches as many as 25 cities including Monza, Genoa, Pontedera, Ancona, Crotone, Salerno, Catania, and then back up to Rome and Viterbo, where it will end on Sunday 3 October.
