«We need to be aware of the risks associated with speculation against the environment . A topic that is more relevant than ever when faced with the projects with which we want to fill the territory with large plants that are not compatible with respect and protection of the natural context. It's about putting in place a legislative mechanism, as happened with the coast saving law, to block all projects that put the Sardinian landscape and our future economy at risk."

This was said by the president of the technical-scientific committee for insularity Maria Antonietta Mongiu at the meeting which took place in the Giorgio Pisano room of L'Unione Sarda in Cagliari on the theme "SarDegna, a practicable path for conscious insularity" .

The discussion, in which scholars and experts took part, began with the book “Buongiorno SarDegna” by the publisher of L'Unione Sarda Sergio Zuncheddu .

The meeting was moderated by editorial director Lorenzo Paolini . The actress Lia Careddu , with her readings, recalled the themes of the volume.

Not only the past and the present with the ballast of dependence on the "Continent", which conditions growth and determines "a condition of underdevelopment", but also the future, with the agenda of things that could be done .

Sergio Zuncheddu reiterated that « the environment is a treasure that we cannot undermine . A legacy to pass on to future generations. It is the most important resource of an island which must be able to manage it with care and attention ."

Also speaking were the historian Marco Pignotti , the architect and art historian Franco Masala , the lawyer Rita Dedola, Gian Valerio Sanna , councilor for urban planning in the council led by Renato Soru, and Giuseppe Biggio , former manager of the planning service territorial and landscape of the Region.
