A true legend resurfacing from the annals of metal history, and choosing the island as their next stop: on Sunday the 14th, Cagliari 's Fabrik will host the only Italian date on the new tour of the legendary Corrosion of Conformity , an American band that has made history in the sludge genre and its ilk. A precious and rare opportunity, with the doors of the venue at Via Mameli 216 opening at 8 pm , with Sardinian band Black Black Istanbul preceding them.

Formed in 1982 in Raleigh, North Carolina , Corrosion of Conformity began their recording career as faithful adherents of hardcore punk with their debut " Eye for an Eye " (1984) and, after a brief period of crossover and thrash in " Animosity " (1985), they moved decisively towards a slow-paced, blues-tinged metal sound . And with " Blind " (1991) they finally attracted the attention of the major labels: hence the success with " Deliverance " (1994) which brought the band two hit singles , which only grew with the following " Wiseblood " (1996).

Solidifying a legendary lineup, featuring founder and sole constant member Woody Weatherman (lead guitar), Mike Dean (bass), Reed Mullin (drums) and Pepper Keenan (vocals and rhythm guitar), the band entered the new millennium with a strong following among fans and critics, fully immersing themselves in the Southern metal style with " America's Volume Dealer " (2000) and the acclaimed " In the Arms of God " (2005), with which they also deviated into stoner rock.

In 2006 the project began a long hiatus which was interrupted only four years later, when Weatherman recruited the most beloved former members again, finally arriving at the official return with the return of Keenan in 2014. The usual audience and new fans are not lacking in enthusiasm, with the stellar response obtained by the new " No Cross No Crown " (2018), a new step towards the very recent " Good God / Baad Man " (2026), defined by critics as the "masterpiece of maturity" .
