The Cagliari Conservatory is preparing a major musical event dedicated to the great composer Ennio Morricone . The Ensemble Symphony Orchestra will perform a tribute to the maestro for the first time in Sardinia, featuring works from "Once Upon a Time in the West" to " Cinema Paradiso ." Proceeds will support social projects combating energy poverty.

The date – The show “Discovering Morricone” is scheduled for Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Auditorium of the Cagliari Conservatory, performed by the Ensemble Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Giacomo Loprieno for an evening event dedicated to the Banco dell'energia Foundation, organized in collaboration with A2A.

European Success – "The concert," a press release states, "has been successfully performed in various European cities and will be in Sardinia for the first time. It takes the audience on a journey of words, inspiration, and solo performances, showcasing some of the melodies that have made Italian and international cinema and music great, from the celebrated strains of "Once Upon a Time in the West" and "Cinema Paradiso" to the atmospherics of "The Hateful Eight," and even lesser-known but equally evocative hits like "The Untouchables" and "La Califfa."

The protagonists – Internationally renowned artists will take turns performing on stage alongside the orchestra: soprano Anna Delfino , beloved by European audiences, will perform the celebrated Deborah's Theme from "Once Upon a Time in America," while violinist Attila Simon , star of Cirque du Soleil, will enchant with his "Love Affair." Accompanying the audience, giving voice to the characters and settings is actor and director Andrea Bartolomeo , the narrator of a journey that unites music, cinema, and emotion.

The evening's proceeds will be donated to the Fondazione Banco dell'energia, a philanthropic organization promoted by A2A, which since 2016 has been working to combat energy poverty and supports social initiatives throughout Italy. These include the "Energy in the Outskirts of Cagliari" project, funded by Edison and Banco dell'energia in collaboration with the Domus de Luna Foundation. The initiative, launched in September 2023, provides financial support for electricity bill payments and the purchase of gas cylinders, as well as an educational program on responsible energy use, aimed at program beneficiaries and the Foundation's staff and volunteers. Tickets are already available on the platform https://www.retedeldono.it/it/alla-scoperta-di-morricone . The event is sponsored by the Municipality of Cagliari and the Region of Sardinia and is made possible thanks to the Cagliari Conservatory.
