Luisanna Marras, 72 years old, has been the extraordinary commissioner of the Municipality of Cagliari since Monday.

An archaeologist and retired regional manager, she was general director of cultural heritage, but also councilor of Selargius and Carbonia and deputy mayor of Cagliari. The objective is to work for the organization of the municipal elections: «The first meetings with the director, with the managers and officials in charge have already been activated. Therefore, we will have to dedicate particular attention to the consultation on 8-9 June, so that it is carried out well and is well organized in compliance with the principles underlying an electoral round. The organization of the “machine” will take a lot of time."

She glosses over the controversies that followed her appointment: «I was appointed "extraordinary commissioner" and the name itself already says what the way in which to explain and carry out this institutional role is. I have no intention of becoming involved in politics because I know very well what my task is, even more so with such a short duration of the commissionership. In two months we must try to support the structure, so that the bureaucratic machine does not block and citizens continue to have the services to which they are entitled. Here, this is my task and I would say that enough is enough."
