The second appointment of the 2023 concert season is scheduled for Friday 20 January at 20.30 (round A) and Saturday 21 January at 19 (round B) with Stephan Zilias ' debut on the podium of the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari.

The Music Director of the Hanover Staatsoper , at the helm of the Teatro Lirico Orchestra , proposes a concert that sees the international star of the piano Alexander Malofeev shine on the occasion of his return to Cagliari. In fact, the Russian musician has already performed in Sardinia on April 10, 2021, an evening broadcast live on television and in live streaming, during one of the periods when theaters were closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. For Malofeev it will still be the actual debut with the audience in the hall.

The musical program includes the performance of: Oberon: Ouverture by Carl Maria von Weber ; Concert no. 1 in F sharp minor for piano and orchestra op. 1 by Sergei Rachmaninov ; First Symphony in C minor op. 68 by Johannes Brahms .

Oberon is the last work composed by Carl Maria von Weber and performed, for the first time, at Covent Garden in London on 12 April 1826 (two months before the author's death), greeted by a triumphal success. Concert No. 1 by Sergej Rachmaninov is considered the most abstract and difficult of the 4 concerts composed and presents an extremely acrobatic and virtuosic solo part that kidnaps and conquers the listener.

Johannes Brahms ' First Symphony is monumental, arduous and difficult, considered by critics to be the ideal continuation of Beethoven's symphonies in terms of style and compositional technique. Divided into the classic four movements, the Brahmsian page is considered a real masterpiece, like the other three symphonies following this one, of nineteenth-century musical literature. The show has a total duration of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes , including the intermission.
