Cagliari hosted a training session with an open-door home match this afternoon, playing against Francesco Pisano's Primavera team. The Rossoblu first team won 4-0 in a 63-minute match in front of approximately 300 fans. Former Brazilian player and coach Leonardo was also present, visiting the training center.
Cagliari initially lined up with a 4-3-2-1: Ciocci; Di Pardo, Zé Pedro, Luperto, Marini; Cavuoti, Mazzitelli, Adopo; Folorunsho, Felici; Pavoletti . The Under-20s responded with Kehayov; Doppio, Cogoni, Franke, Russo; Tronci, Liteta, Roguski, Grandu; Hamdaoua, Mendy. All injured players were out, except for Luperto who has recovered: Gaetano, Mina, Pintus, Radunović, Rodríguez, Rog, and Zappa. Also missing were the five internationals, Idrissi, Kılıçsoy, Luvumbo, Obert, and Palestra.
In the 6th minute, Pavoletti's header from a cross from the left hit the crossbar. The first team took the lead in the 19th minute, with Adopo's right-footed shot from outside the area deflecting past Kehayov . A physical problem forced Di Pardo to be substituted in the 24th minute, with Deiola coming on as a central defender with Zé Pedro at right-back. Shortly after (27th minute), Folorunsho doubled the lead following a mistake by the Under-20 goalkeeper. The first half ended after 31 minutes.
The second half saw Cagliari field Ciocci; Grandu, Zé Pedro, Luperto, Marini; Cavuoti, Mazzitelli, Prati (in the unusual role for him as a midfielder); Esposito, Borrelli, Felici. A rebound in the fourth minute freed Marini alone in the box, but the left-footed shot from the full-back, "loaned" by the Under-20 team to the first team, hit the post. Another strike hit the woodwork in the sixth minute, with Borrelli hitting the crossbar (rebounding off the line) on a cross from the right, and in the 11th minute, another strike from Grandu hit the post. Esposito also hit the crossbar in the 17th minute, but a splendid save from Auseklis kept a fine right-footed strike from outside the box out of the top corner. With a minute and a half left, Borrelli made it 3-0 with a left-footed shot in the center of the box, and in the 30th minute, Esposito completed the fourth with an easy free kick .
