Cagliari Primavera scores a hat-trick against Frosinone, Pisano: "Great satisfaction and confidence."

A 3-0 victory in their direct clash with Frosinone, their third consecutive clean sheet win. Cagliari's Primavera team kicked off 2026 with their best game of the season, and Pisano's post-match smiles spoke volumes: "There's a lot of satisfaction," the coach confirmed after the match decided by goals from Tronci, Mendy, and Trepy. "We knew it was going to be a tough match, with a lot of second-ball play against a physical team. We prepared well, and the boys played it to the best of their ability. In an essentially perfect morning, the performances of two forwards, Paul Mendy and Yael Trepy, once again stood out, providing a significant outlet for their teammates. Both are now the team's top scorers with five goals in Primavera 1, and they reaped the benefits of excellent teamwork. "We're a team used to playing, and today was a different game than we're used to," Pisano explained of the attacking phase. "But the boys interpreted it really well, they cleaned up all the second balls, and we were strong in transition. Now the boys are learning to play a different type of game." While the creation of chances is improving, the defense is also becoming a certainty, and after the initial difficulties, the Primavera team finished with a third consecutive clean sheet. "We're working hard as a team on the non-possession phase. It's everyone's credit, when there's the desire to not concede goals it shows and the boys had the hunger and concentration to get these three games with zero goals."

And beyond teamwork, individual play is key: Cagliari's Bulgarian goalkeeper Atanas Kehayov was decisive in this regard, saving a penalty for the third time this season in the 56th minute of today's match.
