A bitter draw was achieved this afternoon by Cagliari's Primavera team who, against a Milan side that was numerically inferior for the entire last half hour of the game, took home a 1-1 draw that developed entirely during the first half.
At the end of the match, even the rossoblù coach Fabio Pisacane let a slight disappointment shine through for the three missed points: "It's a shame we didn't win because in many ways the team gave an important performance. The numerical superiority didn't give us any advantages, eleven against eleven we were playing the same game. If we didn't bring home the three points, it's only due to our own shortcomings, it's a shame we didn't capitalize on the opportunities we created."
The coach of the islanders then focused on the mental work he is trying to do with his young players day by day, underlining all the difficulties involved: «It is not easy to build a certain mentality in the Primavera , given that the team is constantly changing between exits due to age limits and new entries. Today I asked the boys not to suffer the game, to take it in hand, to play with courage, personality and nastiness. The team did everything they asked, but to make certain games ours we need to bring out something more. We are not satisfied with a draw. From tomorrow we will work even harder to transform good performances into victories, aware that we have the resources to take that extra step that allows us to aspire to something bigger».
The main objective therefore remains to continue to improve training session after training session, match after match. And we are already looking forward to the next match, scheduled for Sunday 23 at 3:00 pm, at Cremonese 's home.
