“Biblio Goal! Reading to build a sustainable city" is the title of the project - the only one to arrive from Sardinia - which brought Cagliari to second place on the podium of the "Città Che Legge 2023" competition , announced by the Cepell (Center for Books and Reading) of the ministry of cultural heritage.

The notice was aimed at the Municipalities which, having the requisites required by the public notice of 20 June 2022, obtained the qualification of "City that reads" for the two-year period 2022-2023. Cagliari participated in section 5, concerning centers with over 100,000 inhabitants. The project, which received a 70 thousand euro loan, but will be integrated with another 20 thousand euro of municipal funds, was supported by the councilor for culture, Maria Dolores Picciau and by the mayor Paolo Truzzu.

The idea presented was appreciated and rewarded for having promoted the objectives pursued by the Municipality , whose objective is to make reading a widespread social habit as well as a tool for inclusion and participation.

It will start in September and there are 60 appointments scattered throughout the city , from the center to the suburbs, which will involve all citizens, thanks also to the 20 partners of the project: from the bodies already members of the Reading Agreement of Cagliari, from the Polo associations Librarian of via Falzarego to schools of different types and levels, to other associations linked to the world of the rights of the disabled, to regional structures involved in European planning, to private companies actively involved in the cultural management chain.
