It's called "Protecting the Future" and is the first edition of the Security Festival, promoted by the Vittorio Occorsio Foundation, scheduled for this weekend at the Manifattura Tabacchi in Cagliari.
The goal? To create an annual event for reflection, discussion, and anticipation. A meeting point for experts, institutions, businesses, and universities to address a crucial and timely issue: the security of energy infrastructure, understood broadly as a nexus between geopolitics, the environment, technology, and legality.
Today, more than ever, threats are evolving : cyber attacks, climate disasters, terrorism, organized crime. And often, the infrastructures that provide the energy—physical and symbolic—of our daily lives become sensitive targets. Protecting them means protecting society, the environment, and the future.
The festival was created as a space for reflection and dialogue . The program features over thirty speakers, along with representatives from the Prefecture of Cagliari, the National Cybersecurity Agency, the Italian Navy, universities, and research centers. An interdisciplinary discussion encompassing topics such as cyber resilience, energy transition, biodiversity, and economic crime.
The initiative is promoted by the Vittorio Occorsio Foundation , established to preserve the memory of the magistrate killed in 1976 and to promote a culture of legality. For years, the Foundation has been committed to documenting the transformations of organized crime and supporting tools for democratic awareness and advocacy.
