Cagliari down at half-time: Lecce ahead but with ten men

Cagliari had a difficult first half, going into the break 1-0 down to Lecce. But from the 45th minute the home team was down to ten men: Dorgu was sent off.
Nicola confirms the starting lineup seen against Como, but the performance is not the same as the first half on Monday. A bad back pass by Mina in the 7th minute sends Krstovic to the goal, who skips past Scuffet but waits too long to shoot and when he does, he catches Luperto who saves almost on the line a goal that seemed certain. The response is from Luvumbo: in the 15th minute he steals the ball from Baschirotto and flies, left footed, over the crossbar.
Lecce scores in the 26th minute, their first in the championship: a corner move, a pass from Gaspar and Krstovic gets ahead of the former Piccoli to tap it into the net from two steps away. Immediately after, a chance for Luvumbo, whose left footed shot is deflectioned, prevents the 1-1, from the corner Piccoli heads wide. Dorgu misses the 2-0 in the 37th minute, failing to take advantage of an empty exit from Scuffet.
The potential turning point in view of the second half is in the 45th minute: a hard tackle with a hammer foot by Dorgu on Prati's ankle, referee Fabbri gives a yellow card but when called to the VAR he changes it to red. And before the interval (47') Azzi comes close to equalising on a cross from the left beaten by Gallo.
