Cagliari Calcio officially begins a new chapter in its corporate history. The Rossoblu club has announced the closing of an agreement that will bring a group of international investors led by Sardinian Maurizio Fiori and American entrepreneur of Indian origin Prashant Gupta into its share capital.
The transaction involves the acquisition of a minority stake, but marks a strategic step to strengthen the company's global profile.
The entry of the new group, also composed of high-level professionals from the world of sport and business, aims to increase the club's commercial opportunities and support its long-term sporting objectives.
Fiori and Gupta are thrilled to begin their collaboration: "Joining Cagliari is both a privilege and a responsibility. This club embodies the island's tradition and pride. We will work to create new opportunities without losing the values of the Rossoblu identity. We are ready to support President Giulini and the entire team in this new chapter."
Maurizio Fiori brings a solid international resume: Managing Director of Praxis Capital Management and CIO of Argos Investment Management, he has extensive experience in global financial markets, from his early days at Olivetti to leading the international expansion of Marquette Partners.
Gupta, CFA, is an entrepreneur with over 25 years in the investment industry, co-founder of the technology company Lancium Inc., and former CFO of major family offices and hedge funds in the United States.
The legal side of the deal was handled by Hogan Lovells, while Deloitte Sports Business Group and Studio Business Consulting handled the due diligence. Cagliari was assisted by Antonio Romei of Studio BDL.
