Cagliari Calcio announces the entry of new investors into its share capital, aimed at acquiring a significant minority stake. The group is led by entrepreneur Maurizio Fiori, CEO of Praxis Capital Management. Originally from Sulcis, Fiori moved to the United States in 1990 when he was in fourth grade at high school. Shortly after returning to Italy, he decided to move back to the US, where he began his career.

Tommaso Giulini will retain control and operational leadership of Cagliari as president and will now be supported by an international partner capable of contributing expertise and a global network, strengthening the consolidation and innovation process already underway. This is something he had already expressed his desire to achieve in a press conference held at the end of June. "Welcoming Maurizio and his group of investors," Giulini stated, "strengthens our future plans and confirms the global potential of our club. Their vision, combined with their experience and respect for our traditions, makes them the ideal partners to build the Cagliari of the future together."

With some American partners, Fiori was among the founders of the Half Acre Beer Company , a beer brewer. Initially a relatively small operation, it grew and became more successful over the years. Fiori's company, founded in 2006, consolidated its position after just a few months by moving to Chicago, where the founding partners had realized there was little local beer production. They opened two breweries that achieved excellent results, growing from an initial annual production of 1,000 liters of beer to surpassing the 2 million mark.

Now, more than thirty years after moving to the United States, he has entered the world of football and the opportunity to play an active role in Cagliari Calcio in Sardinia . "This operation stems from a shared medium- to long-term strategic vision with the aim of supporting the development of the new stadium and, more generally, the growth and structural strengthening of Cagliari Calcio," the club announced. "As a Sardinian who grew up going to every match at the stadium with my grandfather, it is an honor for me to be able to work alongside Tommaso in the stewardship of this beloved institution and help write the next chapter of its history," stated Maurizio Fiori.

The deal was signed today, and the closing and investor presentation will follow, subject to the necessary regulatory approvals . The investor group is being advised by Hogan Lovells as legal advisor and Deloitte as tax and financial advisor on the transaction. Fluorsid Group is being advised by Studio BDL as legal advisor and Studio Verna as tax advisor.
