The final design for the new stadium was presented to the Municipality of Cagliari. This was announced by Cagliari Calcio which in a note explains that the structure will be built next to Unipol Domus, in place of Sant'Elia. "A crucial step in the process for the construction of an innovative facility to be experienced at 360 degrees, both for sport and for the events and daily life of the community", reads the press release.

The company also underlines the thanks for "the COSTIM Group, industrial partner of the project, David Manica and Sportium for having taken care of the design, as well as Monitor Deloitte and Chiomenti, respectively financial advisor on the economic aspects of the plan and law firm that took care of every aspect legal status of the initiative. The economic-financial plan supporting the project, aimed at guaranteeing its balance, was certified by Unicredit ”.

In the program, within the next six months there will be the arrival of the Definitive Project in a Conference of the municipal decision-making Services, to obtain the declaration of public utility of the work. Then "the public tender procedure, with an international tender lasting a maximum of ninety days aimed at being able to start work and assign the fifty-year management concession".

After the demolitions of the Sant'Elia, "the time schedule foresees a construction period of 25 months, until the inauguration of the new stadium".

"In such a particular historical moment - says the rossoblù president Tommaso Giulini - in which the international economy suffers the increase in the cost of raw materials, transport, energy and the influence of an ongoing war conflict, thanks to an always fruitful dialogue with the institutions and our partners we were able to work hard to arrive at the presentation of the Definitive Project, a step that we strongly wanted. This is a crucial page of our journey, for Cagliari and for Sardinia as a whole, to which we want to make available something unique and strongly anchored to the territory, capable of contributing to the sustainable growth of the city from an economic and social point of view ".
