On the day the signing of Raphael Kofler was officially announced, Cagliari said goodbye to another defender: Mateusz Wieteska, who is leaving the Rossoblu for good after three years. The Polish player returns home and joins Wieczysta Kraków on a permanent deal.
Wieteska arrived in Cagliari from French club Clermont at the end of the 2023-2024 summer transfer window, making his debut on September 2, 2023, in Bologna. He played 28 games for the Rossoblu until January 2025, when he was loaned to PAOK in Greece.
Last season, Wieteska played on loan at Kocaelispor in Turkey. It was an unfortunate experience, as after his first appearance he injured his knee and missed the rest of the season. In recent weeks, he had begun training with Cagliari.
