Cagliari announces new medical staff: Gabriele Cirillo appointed new medical director

Gabriele Cirillo is the new medical director of Cagliari Calcio. The club's announcement comes after the termination of its longtime medical director, Dr. Marco Scorcu, after more than thirty years of service at the club. Scorcu completed his time with the Rossoblu on June 30th.
Cirillo, a member of the healthcare team since 2022, specializes in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine. He boasts over thirty years of experience in physical therapy and sports rehabilitation. Since 2001, he has combined his hospital work with sports management, working for Inter Milan, Monza, Pro Sesto, and Feralpisalò in football , as well as for Olimpia Milano in basketball and other national clubs.
Completing the Cagliari first-team medical staff is Dr. Matteo Porceddu . The physiotherapy team will include Salvatore Congiu, Simone Ruggiu, Nicola Latte, and Cristian Calianu. The osteopath will be Andrea Tolu. Luca Naitana, who joins the Rossoblù after stints at CONI and Sampdoria, among others, will be in charge of nutrition. Jacopo Naitana will work alongside him.
In bidding farewell to Dr. Scorcu, Cagliari expresses "their sincerest gratitude for his contribution over the years and wishes him every success in his personal and professional career." Along with him, the club also thanked Giovanna Ghiani, who served as nutritionist for the past three seasons.
