He attacked an 80-year-old man from behind, knocking him to the ground and taking away his wallet. The snatcher, a young foreigner according to the first findings, escaped via Codroipo but had to abandon the loot because he was being chased by two men. Then he managed to lose track.
The episode took place tonight in Cagliari, in Tuvixeddu. The elderly man suffered several injuries and traumas and has been accompanied to the hospital since 118: the doctors are keeping him under observation.
The agents of the flying squad were on the spot: the policemen heard the witnesses and the two tenants of the building in front of which the robbery took place, who intervened in defense of the eighty-year-old. Searches are underway to try to identify the criminal, a young man who is almost certainly a foreigner.
