“Cagliari '70: noi c'eravamo”: «A time machine in a book, with lightness and irony»

Tonight, at Sa Manifattura, many people gathered for the presentation of the book “Cagliari '70: Noi c'eravamo” by Pierpaolo Vargiu, which brought back memories and stories of a Cagliari now far away: that of the Seventies.
An era that, for many, represents youth, made of dreams, battles, school desks - in this case the Siotto High School - loves and a city that, despite its provincial dimension, felt alive and protagonist, at the center of the world. So much so that the victories of Brill and Cagliari were experienced with a different emotion, even compared to world events such as the moon landing.
“It’s not a book about nostalgia,” Vargiu pointed out, accompanied by Professor Maria Antonella Mongiu and class leader Maurizio Melis.
The author spoke about his editorial work, telling how the idea was born from the desire to collect the memories of a generation. The Seventies were a period of change, of clashes and dreams, but also of simple daily life, made of walks and a way of life that today seems light years away.
An evening of memories, voices, laughter and nostalgia for a world seen by kids who were just fourteen years old and who have now become adults.
