Adriano Galliani inherits the Senate seat left vacant by the death of Silvio Berlusconi .

The CEO of Monza Calcio won the by-elections in Monza with 51.54% of the votes , behind him Marco Cappato (supported by Radicali, Pd and M5s) stopped at 39.53%, while the mayor of Taormina Cateno De Luca with his South with North movement obtained 1.76%.

Once the counting of all 739 sections was completed, Galliani was assigned 67,801 votes and Cappato 52,079. All the other six candidates were very far behind.

An election that stood out for its very low turnout, just 19.23% .

«I have seen fantastic results, I certainly would have preferred this seat to remain with my life teacher, my guide, my everything, who was Silvio Berlusconi. The victory is dedicated exclusively to Berlusconi to whom I will be grateful for my whole life ", these are the first words after the election of Galliani, who thanked all the parties of the centre-right coalition for their support.

The Cav's right-hand man has received the support of Berlusconi's family: from Marina ("A vote that testifies to the great affection of the Brianza people towards my father , today his seat goes to a person of great human and professional qualities") to Pier Silvio ("The right person to take over from my father in the Senate, his experience, his balance and his determination are a guarantee for the citizens").
