It is Northern Sardinia and especially Gallura that push the island above the national figure. There are more businesses open than closed in 2023, with a growth rate of 1.4% which even ranks sixth in Italy out of the 105 national territories.

The figure for the Sassari-Gallura province is higher than those of Cagliari (+0.91%), Nuoro (+0.39%) and Oristano (+0.17%). It is among the most striking notes among those that emerged this morning in the Sassari Chamber of Commerce during the presentation of the evolution of the entrepreneurial fabric in 2023.

There are almost 46 thousand active companies in Northern Sardinia and they employ 134 thousand workers. The sectors still healthy are those of services (+2.7%), construction (+1.2%), tourism is holding steady (+0.6%) and trade relating to neighborhood businesses and street vendors is declining ( -1.8%).

At the chamber's table were the president Stefano Visconti, the secretary Pietro Esposito and the two officials who handled the presentation of the data, Monica Cugia and Francesco Piredda.

The dashboard accessible from the Chamber of Commerce website was also presented which allows you to separate the data by sector, male and female gender, and even by municipality.
