"The final version of the budget variation is ready, and I hope it will be approved by the Regional Council by May." This is how Giuseppe Meloni, vice president of the Regional Council and councilor for the budget, outlined the draft law approved by the executive branch at its meeting on April 24.
This clarification was deemed necessary after the latest controversy over delays, fueled by the opposition . "After publication and the auditors' opinion," Meloni explained, "the measure will be made available to the council committees."
The €750 million budget is considered the first truly political financial measure of the legislature with a significant amount of maneuverable funds, thanks in part to the allocation of resources from the revenue dispute. Councilors are expected to have €350 million available to contribute to structural and long-term measures . But it will also have to address emergencies, both old and new, such as the high prices of fuel, energy, and healthcare .
There's a risk of an "erosion effect" on the available funds, which will effectively impose a fair weight on each allocation. And outside the government, the League is attacking, faced with emergencies by "censoring" the 30 million earmarked for the airport privatization operation .
