The 2023 edition of the Bastida di Sorres , the historical re-enactment organized by the municipal administration to recall the historic battle of 1334 between the Dorias and the Aragonese, will be held from 25 to 27 August in Borutta.

Extras with period clothes, shining armor and common people with simple clothes in ancient cottons will welcome visitors from Saturday 26 morning at 9.30 and until Sunday evening to immerse them in the lifestyles of the medieval era.
«Twelve years of investments in historical studies by the organizers and participating associations, this is the Bastida of Sorres 2023 - explains Silvano Arru, mayor of Borutta - Every year we have tried to insert something new and involve the territory and our community".
This year one of the novelties will be the booking through the digital system present on the websites www.bastidadisorres.it www.comune.borutta.ss.it, www.sorresnaturaecultura.com which will allow guided visits to the museum, the cathedral, the exhibition of medieval tortures and the Ulàri cave. The digital booking system will allow greater usability and constant monitoring of the visit service.
News also in the opening to the territory of the event which will expand with the figure of the medieval auctioneers who will move to neighboring villages on Friday evening to announce the Bastida.
«La Bastida di Sorres is no longer an event of the Borutta community alone but the Meilogu event which year after year involves the neighboring towns that contribute to its success - explains the deputy mayor and engine of the event Renzo Solinas - We jumped of quality in this decade and the Bastida of Sorres is now mentioned among the national re-enactments. The groups that want to participate increase as the preparation of the medieval camp is enriched».
For the 2023 edition , there will be 8 national groups participating - Memoriae Milites, Le 4 Porte, Sagitarii Vagantes, Corporazione Arcieri di Sanluri, Il Popolo dai Mille Colori, Gioiosa Guardia, Compagnia dell'Ariete Rampante, Cavalieri dell'Antica Locanda - and the Spanish group Caballeros de Ulver , for a total of about two hundred participants in medieval clothes , each with its own specificity and its own added value to bring to the event. With the Spanish group Caballeros de Ulver, the Bastida becomes international and broadens the boundaries of re-enactment by recalling the Iberian roots of the battle.
Three days of celebrations, scenes of daily life, battles, jesters, acrobats, archers, knights, falconers, fakirs, jugglers and craftsmen, this will be the Bastida of Sorres which this year too has been included in the major regional events and in the program of Salude&Trigu events of the Chamber of Commerce of Sassari.
