Body Building, Muzzu triumphs in the Ifbb Pro League: the last Sardinian was Franco Columbu
Decades after the great bodybuilder, another island athlete won the prestigious competition. The Nuoro native rejoices: «A great emotion»
The last Sardinian to succeed in such a feat was the famous Franco Columbu. Now, after decades of waiting, the title of the "Pro card Ifbb" has returned to the island: the winner is Gianpietro Muzzu from Nuoro, 50 years old, owner of a well-known gym in Nuoro.
In the competition held last Saturday in Milan, Muzzu reached the top in the "Men Physique" category B, then competing in the "over all" final where he triumphed ahead of his other colleagues.
«A great emotion – explains the bodybuilder – I only started competing a few years ago. I would never have imagined that I would succeed in this undertaking which I dedicate to my family and to the kids at the gym who are my true strength."
In the meantime, Muzzu is already working towards new challenges, not excluding participation in the Mister Olympia which will be held in Las Vegas next year.
