The movement of cattle in and out of the region resumes. The Ministry of Health has in fact accepted the requests of the Sardinia Region and removed the restrictions in force since 8 September for health reasons linked to the "Blue Tongue" virus.

The garments to be transferred must comply with a simple procedure, which involves treating the garment with repellents against culicoids (the insects responsible for spreading the virus) and a preventive PCR test after seven days (to check for any infection of the animal ). Free movement also of sheep heads within the regional territory, after treatment of the animals with repellent and veterinary visit within 24 hours of movement, to exclude the presence of any symptoms.
"An optimal solution - declares the commissioner Nieddu - which maintains the safety and prevention aspects firmly, avoiding longer and heavier dies for the breeders who will thus be able to resume the movements in particular of cattle outside the region. PCR tests also the farms where the outbreak is active will be able to move the healthy animals for needs related to grazing and animal welfare ".
