Ninety-six athletes from 14 countries are ready to transform Torregrande into one of the international beach tennis capitals. From Friday, July 31st to Sunday, August 2nd, the Eolo Beach Sports courts will host the BT200 Oristano – Eolo Beach Contest Proxienergy 2026, a leg of the Beach Tennis World Tour with a prize pool of $15,000. Alongside the international tournament, the Open, Third Category, TPRA, and Under 18 competitions are also scheduled, as is the Beach Next Generation Cup. Overall, organizers expect over 150 participants.
All eyes will be on Oristano native Angelica Villecco, runner-up at the Under-18 World Championship with the Italian national team, who will try to shine in front of her home crowd. Also representing Sardinia will be Andrea Reginato and Emma Mussetti from Cagliari.
The technical level promises to be extremely high. Leading the entry list is world number one and reigning world champion Mattia Spoto, paired with Filippo Boscolo Meneguolo. The women's draw features Greta Giusti and Nicole Nobile, both ranked in the top twenty.
"Torregrande confirms its position as one of the most popular destinations on the international circuit," observes Sebastiano Cau, president of ASD Eolo Beach Sports, adding, "We expect days of top-level sport." Organizer Diego Fratini emphasizes the event's format: "It brings together the world's top players and those who practice our sport at a competitive level," with a program designed to engage enthusiasts of all ages.
The tournament kicks off on Friday morning with the Beach Next Generation Cup for the Under categories, followed by the BT200 main draw in the afternoon. The tournament will kick off on Saturday with the round of 16 and quarterfinals, before the grand finale on Sunday, featuring the men's and women's semifinals and finals. Admission to the matches is free.
