“After 30 years with the ball in hand and 17 spent in Sassari, it's time to stop. But I'm staying here, because I feel at home” thus Jack Devecchi announced his retirement at the end of the season. He still has two years on his contract. "The contract also includes the role of manager" explained the president Stefano Sardara, even if he postponed until after the playoffs due to the guard's future commitments. As well as for the appointment of the new captain (will it be Massimo Chessa from Sassari?).

Devecchi thanked everyone: players, coaches, all the people of the Dinamo family, and the presidents: “the Mele family who brought me to this fantastic land and introduced me to the city and people, you Sardinians who entered my heart and I thank Stefano Sardara who was more than a president for me, we have made a wonderful journey together and we will continue to do so, I have achieved the dreams that all children have, playing in Serie A and winning and playing in all European cups, writing the history of Sardinian and Italian basketball”.

Emotion in thanking the family "For 30 years they put up with and supported me, they trained me to face this beautiful journey" and shining eyes in remembering the best moment: "Immediately after the sound of the siren in Reggio Emilia, when we won a Scudetto I never thought I'd win."

Jack Devecchi has just passed the 800 appearances in the white and blue shirt and is in his seventeenth season. Nobody like him at Dinamo and nobody like him in the current basketball league. To find a similar example we must mention Tonolli (20 championships with Virtus Roma) and even Marzorati, flag of Cantù.
