It is one of the oldest basketball clubs in Quartu, second only to Ferrini. Yet Basket Quartu is experiencing an almost surreal situation. The Quartese association has been without a field for 4 years, after the closure of the Palasport in Via Beethoven for works and the damage caused by bad weather to the PalaValery.

Mini basketball has found ''home'' in two city gyms; the youth sector is hosted by Ferrini. The women's B has found a home at the Antonianum. But the almost paradoxical situation is experienced by the first men's team competing in the Promotion championship. The quintet coached by Pau only knew at the beginning of the week which field they would play their home games on. And the playoffs begin next week. But it's the whole organization that gets complicated.

So much so that Vice President Lorenzo Rocca uttered a cry of pain: "At this rate, we are destined for closure." The coach of the First team, who plays in Promotion, Giuseppe Pau, is caustic: «We feel like a nomadic team». But, for the future, there is a small glimmer of light. The Sports Councilor, Cinzia Carta, assures: «Basket Quartu will only have to have a little more patience; within a few months the indoor stadium in Via Beethoven will reopen."
