The boom in visitors to the archaeological and cultural sites of Barumini continues, which welcomed 124,000 people in 2022.
In October alone, after a summer of numbers in line with pre-pandemic levels, the three structures of the site (Su Nuraxi, Casa Zapata and the Giovanni Lilliu Center) recorded another 14 thousand visitors in October, 8 thousand of which to the nuragic complex.
"Barumini - comments the President of the Region Christian Solinas - is a virtuous example of how, thanks to the enhancement of our historical heritage, we can create an integrated system, the engine of growth that benefits the local economy and that of the whole Island. Cultural tourism represents an opportunity for development for Sardinia and enriches the already wide tourist offer to be offered to visitors ".
"These results - underlines the secretary general of the Barumini Foundation, Tonino Chironi - reward our commitment and the work done and are the result of careful planning which, after two difficult years due to restrictions, has brought the archaeological site back to the highest levels in terms of attendance and allows us to look to next season with justified optimism ”.
“We are about to close a year to remember with extremely important numbers”, highlights the president of the Barumini Foundation, Emanuele Lilliu .
“The nuragic complex and the museum center - adds Lilliu - are a point of reference for archaeological tourism in Sardinia and beyond, thanks to a cultural offer increasingly appreciated by visitors. We will continue in the work of enhancing this unique heritage, an indispensable source of economic development for our entire territory ”.
