"For her extraordinary talent, for the excellence with which she honors Sardinia around the world, and for the emotion she brings to all of us through her music": this is the motivation that led to the awarding of the 2026 Golden Onion Prize to violinist Anna Tifu. The Cagliari-born artist thanked Banari by playing a powerful instrumental version of "No potho reposare" on her violin (a 1783 Guadagnini), followed by Bach's "Chaconne" in D minor, a piece where virtuosity shines through. The award ceremony was the highlight of the first day of the Golden Onion Festival.

The Sardinian musician received the prestigious award from the hands of master sculptor Giuseppe Carta , together with the president of Proloco, Sabrina Fiori, the mayor Francesco Basciu and the journalist Salvatore Taras who hosted the evening.

The evening continued with the awarding of the 2026 Largest Onion Prize, accepted by Antonietta Derudas of Ossi. The evening began in traditional style with a performance by " Cuncordu Banaresu, " directed by Silvio Nappi , and continued with the official opening of the stands offering gastronomic specialties from the local tourist organizations of Banari, Uri, Usini, and Porto Torres. Yesterday's program featured Antonello Monte, Gianpaolo Demartis, Pinuccio Mangatia , Francesco Cuccuru, and a cooking show by Pier Paolo Argiolu, known to Videolina audiences as Cozzina.
