A ballu tundu fiolinesu and a Maori dance, a canto a tenore and a Brazilian dance "Bumba-meu boi." The 36th Figulinas Festival offered a spectacular comparison of Sardinian traditions with those of groups from Central and South America, Oceania, and the island of Taiwan. Two thousand spectators attended the opening night alone, Thursday at the Municipal Amphitheater, for the journey around the world offered by the international folklore festival organized by the Figulinas association in conjunction with the Municipality of Florinas.
Five foreign groups: the Compañía de Danza Acuarela Boliviana , the Ngāti Rangiwewehi Kapa Haka Maori Cultural Group – Aotearoa , arriving from New Zealand with 26 members, the Brazilian group Boi Brilho da Ilha , the award-winning company Fei Yang Folk Dance Group from Taiwan and the Ballet Folklorico Internacional de Ovest , ensemble founded in Guadalajara, western Mexico.
Sardinia's representatives included the Figulinas Folk Group , the Atzara Folk Group , the Proloco Folk Group of Gavoi, the Beata Vergine del Rimedio Folk Group of Ozieri, and Tenore San Gavino of Oniferi. The second evening featured Florinas in Festa - The Friendship Festival , a moment strongly desired by the organizing association. It provided an opportunity to better understand the culture of each guest country and share, in a less formal context, the essence of the island's traditions. This strengthened the values of identity, diversity, peace, and respect among peoples, pillars of this event, in line with the objectives of CIOFF, the international organization that has included Figulinas in its circuit since 2005. The event, hosted by Giuliano Marongiu with the show "Incantos," was a great success, engaging the audience and guest groups in a continuous and genuine cultural exchange.
