“Autumn in music”, Donizetti's work closes the review at the Lirico

The "Autumn in music 2021" review of the Opera House closes in Cagliari with the new lively staging of "La fille du régiment" by Donizetti.
Thursday 16 December, at 8.30 pm, the new appointment will be staged with seven hilarious performances of the opéra-comique in two acts with libretto by Jean-François-Alfred Bayard and Jules Henri Vernoy de Saint-Georges.
The opera will be performed, for the first time in the Sardinian capital, in the original French language with Italian surtitles, in a new staging of the Lirico.
"La fille du régiment" had been absent from Cagliari since November 1984 (Auditorium del Conservatorio). The representation is of particular interest for the lively and cheerful visual aspect curated for the direction by Alessio Pizzech, affirmed both in prose and in opera, at his debut in Cagliari, scenes by Davide Amadei, costumes by Carla Ricotti and lighting by Valerio Tiberi.
Frédéric Chaslin, appreciated French conductor, composer and pianist, returns to the Cagliari podium. He is entrusted with the musical direction of the opera: he will lead the orchestra and choir of the opera house. The choir master is Giovanni Andreoli.
The opera avails itself of a double and very valid singing company: Hasmik Torosyan / Laura Esposito (Marie), Anastasia Boldyreva / Annunziata Vestri (La Marquise de Berkenfield), Giuseppina Piunti (La Duchesse de Krakenthorp), Marco Ciaponi / Valerio Borgioni ( Tonio), Bruno Taddìa / Jan Antem (Sulpice), Claudio Levantino / Francesco Palmieri (Hortensius), Simeone Latini (Un Notaire), Nicola Ebau (Un Caporal), Oscar Piras / Giampiero Boi (Un paysan).
One of the most popular and well-known theatrical comedy of the composer from Bergamo - it is placed halfway between the opera-comique and the comic opera - is a terrifying test for the tenor for the famous 9 "C acute" of his aria (Ah mes ami ) which, together with military marches, lyrical and bucolic scenes, involves the public in a delightful love story, contrasted by social conventions, by Marie and Tonio, set in Tyrol in 1805 in the middle of the Napoleonic era.
"La fille du régiment" is repeated on December 17th at 20.30, on 18th at 19, on 19th at 17, on 21 at 20.30, on 22 at 20.30, and on 23 at 20.30.
