Beating Rublev to (probably) give himself Djokovic. This is the mission of Jannik Sinner who tomorrow, around 11am Italian time, will take to the court against the Russian tennis player, number 5 in the world, for the quarter-finals of the Australian Open .

His opponent achieved qualification by overcoming the Australian De Minaur , number 10 ATP, in the round of 16 after four hours and fifteen minutes of play and five sets.

The quarter-finals, however, will be inaugurated by Novak Djokovic , who on the Italian night will face the American Fritz as an over-favourite. Should he go through, he would be the one to wait for the winner of the Sinner-Rublev match in the next round.

The final eight program is completed the following day with the match between Medvedev and Hurkacz , winners against Borges and Cazaux and the one between Zverev and Alcaraz , who today beat Norrie and Kecmanovic respectively.
