Attack from the centre-right: «In the first hundred days the majority only thought about seats»
In the aftermath of the appointments of the administrators and commissioners of the Provinces and metropolitan cities, the center-right goes on the attackPer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
Just pay attention to the seats and new positions in the first hundred days of the Campo Largo legislature . This is the accusation that comes from the centre-right opposition following the green light to the law which appoints eight extraordinary administrators for the six new Provinces and the two metropolitan cities of Cagliari and Sassari , and three extraordinary commissioners for the Provinces that will become extinct (Nuoro , South Sardinia, Sassari).
«The law on the Provinces was born from a transversal agreement and there was already a regulatory device useful for regulating the transitional phase», explained Fausto Piga of FdI during a press conference, «instead the new majority decided that the existing law should be modified. An inconsistent change of path: the number of administrators and commissioners is increased, the majority claims that public spending remains unchanged, but this is not possible ." According to Piga, all this is justified by the "thirst for power and greed, which comes from those who have criticized the Solinas armchair factory for years, with reference to the law on the reorganization of the Presidency of the Region". The famous "poltronificio law", "still used by the majority" . The truth is that «today the “Todde” armchair factory was born. And this is surprising because the priorities of the moment had to be healthcare, agriculture, transport, wind energy. During the election campaign they had easy solutions to the problems."
For the leader of the Reformers Umberto Ticca "this law on local authorities actually only gives the current majority the possibility of making new appointments". Thus, these first hundred days "have been useless for the moment for the emergencies in Sardinia" . According to Gianni Chessa (Misto) «the thirst for power and seats on the part of the current government majority is evident : in the last legislature they greatly criticized the decisions of the Solinas council, accusing us of having created an armchair factory – he said – now they not only they occupy the positions created in the last legislature but create others. The law approved yesterday provides for the doubling of positions, the majority must satisfy many requests. We don't agree, we are faced with a waste of public money ."
The numbers are provided by Alessandro Sorgia (Misto) : « In 2024, 2 million euros will be needed to cover the costs of sole commissioners and administrators – explains Sorgia – in 2025 it will take another 5 million euros ». For the minority councilor, however, the real issue is another: «The law approved yesterday does not clarify the roles and responsibilities of the new appointees, nor does it indicate the resources to deal with the functions carried out by the provinces. The decision only serves to create new seats." For Giuseppe Talanas (Forza Italia) «what is surprising is the timing. An extension already existed in the provinces, what urgency was there in bringing this law to the Council? Sardinia's priorities are different: drought, transport, healthcare in trouble ." Finally, from Talanas, an invitation to the majority: «In the last legislature they criticized the law on presidential staff a lot. Well, we are willing to enter the chamber with an emergency measure to cut all the figures that the center-left was contesting."
