It was only the second marathon he had run, but Yeman Crippa confirmed himself as being in another category. In Seville the Italian finished the race in two hours, six minutes and six seconds , setting a new Italian record.

The previous one belonged to Iliass Aouani, who just under a year ago had stopped the clock at 2h7'16'', over a minute later than Crippa.

The one in the marathon is yet another Italian record for the athlete born in 1996: he already holds the 3,000, 5,000 and 10,000 meters.
